What is BICYPAA?
Big Island Campout of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous
BICYPAA was founded in 2014 for the purpose of providing a setting for an annual celebration of sobriety among Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous right here on Hawai’i Island. It's a weekend event that occurs once a year and consists of panels, activities, games, speaker meetings and more. At BICYPAA, recovering alcoholics can share their experience about getting and staying sober. Attendees of all ages come from across the globe to experience this truly remarkable gathering.
BICYPAA is the Big Island chapter of an International group of Recovering Alcoholics within Alcoholics Anonymous with the desire to share the message of A.A. to people no matter their age. We identify as Young because we have room to grow and we are young at heart. Also most of the activities and gatherings we host throughout the year are more attractive to “young people” as they are who we are directly responsible to. We are not the boring and religious types, we are of the loud and proud, “straight pepper diet” variety.
